Apprenticeship is an extremely effective form of training where a journeyperson passes on knowledge and skills to apprentices in the workplace. Collaboration is all about working together with others to achieve a common goal. The Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Workforce Development, Apprenticeship Training and Skill Development Division and NSCC are working together on a new Collaborative Apprenticeship Initiative. This project will build on strengths in identifying best practices in apprenticeship training and exploring models that increase the number of participants through the full-journey to trade certification, while actively engaging government, education, and industry in the learning process.
